X Articles
Last updated August 16, 2026
Turn a long-form X Article (or a long note) into spoken audio. This is not the same as following an X account: you ask for one Article, and Announcr reads it, summarizes it, or teaches it.
Start in the app at X Articles, or tag @AnnouncrFM on X.
In the app
- Open X Articles (also listed in the Catalog).
- Paste an X Article URL or a long-form post URL.
- Choose Read, Summarize, or Teach.
- Optionally pick an output language and voice, then start.
The first clip starts as soon as it is ready. Later clips follow. Progress and replay stay on that Article's page and in Messages.
Tag @AnnouncrFM on X
You can tag @AnnouncrFM without an Announcr account. Read and Summarize play on a public card. Teach needs a free account; unlinked Teach requests are summarized instead. Link X later under Settings → Linked accounts to save those results into Messages.
Then do one of these:
- Reply to the Article (or a long-form post) and mention @AnnouncrFM with a command
- Quote the Article and mention @AnnouncrFM with a command
- Mention @AnnouncrFM and include the Article link plus a command
You must include a command word. A mention with only a link gets a short help reply.
Commands
If you combine words, Teach wins, then Summarize, then Read. So "read and summarize this as a course" becomes Teach.
Read accepts read, read aloud, and listen:
@AnnouncrFM read this@AnnouncrFM read this article@AnnouncrFM please read this@AnnouncrFM read this aloud@AnnouncrFM read aloud@AnnouncrFM listen@AnnouncrFM listen to this@AnnouncrFM read https://x.com/author/status/1234567890
Summarize accepts summarize, summarise, summary, tldr, and tl;dr:
@AnnouncrFM summarize this@AnnouncrFM summarise this@AnnouncrFM can you summarize this@AnnouncrFM summary@AnnouncrFM tldr@AnnouncrFM tl;dr@AnnouncrFM summarize https://x.com/i/article/9876543210
Teach accepts teach, lesson, and course:
@AnnouncrFM teach this@AnnouncrFM teach me this@AnnouncrFM teach me this article@AnnouncrFM lesson@AnnouncrFM course@AnnouncrFM make this a course@AnnouncrFM teach this as a course
Language
Language is optional. Add it after in, into, or language.
If you do not name a language, Announcr uses your saved Article language from Settings. If you have not saved one, it defaults to English.
Examples:
@AnnouncrFM read this(English, unless you saved a different language)@AnnouncrFM read this in English@AnnouncrFM read this in Spanish@AnnouncrFM summarize this in Polish@AnnouncrFM summarise this in French@AnnouncrFM tldr in German@AnnouncrFM teach this into Chinese@AnnouncrFM read this language: Arabic@AnnouncrFM summarize this in en@AnnouncrFM teach this in Japanese https://x.com/author/status/1234567890
Named languages include English, Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (or Mandarin), Hindi, Arabic, Dutch, Russian, and Turkish. Two-letter codes such as en, pl, and ar also work.
Voice is not a mention command. Set your xAI voice under Settings → Article language & voice. Voices marked with an asterisk are optimized for the language you picked.
What you get
- Read: the Article spoken in clips, with photos when the Article has them
- Summarize: a shorter spoken brief
- Teach: a spoken course; the first lesson plays now, later lessons unlock as you go
Announcr replies on X with a progress or ready link. Linked accounts also get the result in Messages. Guest mentions stay on the public card until you link X. Summaries and courses can be shared as an unlisted public page. A full Read stays private unless the verified Article author publishes their own Read.
